My boss and I attended an event last week, aimed at training people in executive positions and those who plan to be one. It was my first time to attend such kind of event, and I must say that my expectations were not met. That was a good thing, actually.

Being only a secretary of the participant, I did not have many expectations on the event. I thought that I will spend my weekend attending boring seminars and typing stuff for my boss. But when the convention started, I was surprised to see the customized promotional bags they gave us. It was so pretty because of the nice event name and logo imprinted on them.

The following day, part of the convention schedule includes a trip to a local tourist destination. We were supposed to spend the whole afternoon there. For the second time, I was again surprised. Before we got off our bus, a staff of the event gave  customized promotional backpacks and messenger bags. The guy told me that those items were for the afternoon’s event. Those bags were perfect because we spent most of the afternoon hiking.

The promotional materials the organizers gave me made my trip a lot more pleasurable. I thought I would be bored to death, but instead, they gave me more reasons to shop (which I did before we left the place). When we were on the way home, I saw my boss holding customized promotional briefcases and attaches bags. When I asked him about it, he said that he’ll give it to the other executives in the company.
